Agra. Raising questions regarding the administrative
machinery following the fire incident that occurred at the Sessions Court
premises on Monday, Advocate Saroj Yadav stated that no concrete measures are
currently in place to prevent such accidents. She pointed out that waste and
refuse within the court premises are not being disposed of in a timely manner,
and overflowing dustbins can frequently be observed throughout the entire
complex.
Saroj Yadav mentioned that she had
previously submitted a memorandum to the judicial administration, demanding the
imposition of a strict ban on smoking within the Civil Court premises; however,
absolutely no seriousness was demonstrated in addressing this issue. She
emphasized that employees must be provided with proper fire-fighting training,
and it is imperative to maintain a well-organized system of fire extinguishers,
adequate water supply, hydrants, and hose pipes to combat fires within the
premises—a matter that requires serious attention in the public interest. She asserted
that Monday's fire incident was a direct consequence of the mismanagement
regarding waste disposal and fire safety within the premises. She has demanded
a high-level inquiry into this administrative failure and called for strict
action against those responsible for the negligence.
