Court strict in 23 year old case, arrest
warrant against AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh.
The MP-MLA court of Sultanpur has issued an arrest warrant
against six people including AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and former SP MLA Anoop Sanda in a 23 year old
case. This order has been issued by the court of MP-MLA Special Magistrate Shubham Verma. Last week, the court had
sentenced all these people to two years' imprisonment. Let us tell you that all
the six accused including Sanjay Singh
and Anoop Sanda had to surrender in
the court on Friday, but no one had come to surrender.
The court had rejected the stay on the sentence.
The sentence of three months' imprisonment of six accused including Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay
Singh and former SP MLA Anoop Sanda
in the 23 year old case of dharna demonstration and road jam during the tenure
of BSP government will remain intact. On Tuesday, MP-MLA Court Judge Ekta Verma had rejected the appeal to end the
sentence of the accused. The court had ordered the accused to surrender in the lower court on August
9. From where he was to go to jail, but he did not appear in court on Friday.
What is the whole matter.
On 19 June 2001, near the Gabhadia Over Bridge in the city, the lower court of MP-MLA on 11 January 2023 sentenced six accused including former MLA Anoop Sanda, his PRO at that time and currently AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh to three months' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,500 each for protesting against the government over power cuts and water problems. This order of punishment was challenged in the appellate court. Last week, the court had upheld the decision of the lower court by rejecting the appeal of the accused.
